Share buybacks
ThyssenKrupp AG holds 51,015,552 shares of treasury stock or around 9.9% of the capital stock. The shares were purchased under share buybacks in July/August 2006, in February/March 2008 and in July/August 2008. No rights accrue to the Company from these repurchased shares.
The free float, which is relevant for the weighting of the ThyssenKrupp stock in the indices, amount to 65% of the capital stock.
Share buyback July/August 2008
In the period from July 15, 2008, up to August 13, 2008, ThyssenKrupp AG purchased a total of 10,500,000 shares of the Company, representing around 2% of the capital stock, at an average price of 33.98 euros. This represents a total amount of around 356.8 million euros.
